Sensitivity calculation and the throughput of an FMS with respect to the routing mix using perturbation analysis
Article Abstract:
An algorithm based on perturbation analysis was created to evaluate the effects of the change of the routing mix on the throughput in planning and control stages of a Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). The analysis of the problem holds significance in the areas of production planning, routing mix, and production control. Results show the algorithm to be an efficient method for assessing sensitivity of the throughput of an FMS.

New bounds for expected cycle times in tandem queues with blocking
Article Abstract:
Issues are presented concerning the finite nature of the buffers in service stations in the manufacturing process. The use of a decomposition approach with tandem queues, service time distributions and cycle times are discussed.
