Sodiaal se pr pare un ventuel accueil de partenaires financiers pour aider son d veloppement international
Article Abstract:
Sodiaal, which made a 1997 turnover of FFr 17.55bn, up 2.4%, for net earnings of FFr 49mn, double the 1996 figure, posted a 6.5% rise in mass-market products, mainly due to innovative products. For this turnover, 28.2% came from dairy products, 21.9% came from drinking milk, and 10.7% came from cheese. Industrial products, which represent 28.1% of the total turnover, dropped 10%. This branch is striving to redirect itself toward added value products and international development on Southeast Asia, particularly China, where it is presently studying a partnership in infant milk formula and nutritional milks. Cedilac-Candia has increased its export volume by 30% and is negotiating new contracts. Yoplait the world's second largest chilled dairy products manufacturer has continued its growth in Europe (Poland and Great Britain) and outside of Europe in Tunisia and Lebanon. Sodiaal, which represents 85% to 90% of dairy cooperative advertising investments, spent more than FFr 430mn on its brands in 1997. Based on the observation that around twenty operators sell the same product in France, which lowers the price, Sodiaal's managing director recommends an organisation of the dairy industry. Sodiaal expects to make a turnover of more than FFr 18bn in 1998, and to continue Yoplait's growth.
