Spatial organization of an industrial area: distribution of the environmental cost and equity policies
Article Abstract:
A model is developed which helps distribute the economic and environmental burdens of polluting units in industrial areas to the firms and public. The model considers the effect of wind on the distribution of effluent gases and the influence of stack height on the distribution of pollutants to nearby area. The basis of computing for an equitable cost distribution policies is dependent on the determination of a global upper limit for pollutant levels, which takes into consideration the nuisance effect.
