Sub-Saharan Africa: inching ahead
Article Abstract:
The Sub-Saharan nations of Africa registered a rise in gross domestic product of 3.8% in 1995. Nearly 66% of the 48 economies in the region grew by 3%, its highest figure in over a decade. The rise in GDP is, however, expected to temporary since it is base on high prices of commodities.

A recent study by G.T. Management (Asia) of various western and Asian economies ranked the impact of government economic controls over the rate of economic growth. The results were surprising when China's Guangdong province showed the highest rate of all ranked Asian areas.
