TRIGAT tangles
Article Abstract:
The French government has decided not to continue with the industrialization stage of the long range version of the TRIGAT fire and forget anti-tank missile. The missile system can be fired from ground or air platforms, with the Tiger helicopter being tailored for the missile. TRIGAT-LR uses imaging infra-red technology as the center of the system. To employ the missile, the Tiger is equipped with an Osiris mast-mounted sight head, featuring a thermal imaging camera, a low-light television camera and a laser rangefinder. However, the TRIGAT will still be kept as the main weapon system for anti-armor Tigers.
