Telecom Italia rejects second Olivetti bid

Olivetti SpA has been rebuffed in its $58 billion hostile takeover bid for Telecom Italia SpA. Industry analysts have said that Telecom Italia had turned to Consab, the Italian stock market watchdog, for a second time to evaluate the acquisition offer. Olivetti has been attracting offers from telecom firms throughout the world for Telecom Italia's assets should its bid succeed.
