Integrated assessment of acid-deposition effects on lake acidification
Article Abstract:
An inegrated assessment model is used to determine the effects of acid rain in lakes of the Adirondack Park in New York and the Boundary Waters in Minnesota. Assumptions are made that US emissions are constant and that these will have uniform probability distribution. Results vary depending on lake chemistry and neutralization fraction and show that there will be improvements in lake acidity, enhancing the ability to sustain marine life.
