The US is the first country to allow transplantation of genetic material into humans. Researchers hope that genetic transplants can cure genetic ailments such as cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy. Researchers also hope to develop vaccines using genetic material for various diseases from influenza to AIDS.

Courting abuse: memories "recovered" in therapy should not be allowed in court
Article Abstract:
Recovered memory therapy has not been proven to be valid and testimony stemming from this therapy should not be allowed as evidence in court cases. In some jurisdictions, rules of evidence and statues of limitations have been unwisely been changed to allow this testimony in child abuse cases.

A non-fatal inversion: gene therapy
Article Abstract:
Scientists have made some progress using the DNA's duplication process to combat genetic defects and viruses. They are able to slightly alter the RNA so it develops something opposite rather than the same, thus destroying the gene.
