China Southern may ascend: despite projected losses, stock could soar
Article Abstract:
China Southern Airlines Co. (CSA) could be one of the best buys for long term investments among Chinese domestic airlines, due to the value of the stock relative to its book value and the depreciation of the yen against the yuan. China Southern Airline reported a net profit of 1.14 bil yuan in 1997, with 325.78 mil yuan coming from a foreign exchange gain. Analysts are particularly fond of CSA stocks, which is trading at only 0.4 times its book value, compared to the 1.5 times the book value share price of other regional Chinese airlines.
