Unconventional in Europe: Eurosag, the European Cnfederation of Salaried Architects Groups, has a reputation for challenging orthodxy. Is it running ut of steam?
Article Abstract:
The European Confederation of Salaried Architects Groups (Eurosag) was started 18 years ago and is radical manifesto was rejected by the RIBA Council. The meetings are now to be managed by the institution in the host country, and the most recent meeting was handled by the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects. The discussions considered the commercial, political and social pressures faced by architects and looked at the meaning and implications of the built environment. Green agendas were also discussed.

Research into the link between the cost of architectural design and its value found a difference in perception between clients and architects about the procurement of a building project. One client felt that a building project should be seen as a product of time with flexibility and adaptability to future change. Architects felt that price competition has led to less time available for extended brief building.
