Article Abstract:
Town names are examined, and it was noted that the name Penge is so ugly that it can be perceived that there is nothing good about the town. It was noted that although Barnsley is a nice name, people residing there will utilize the ugly name Doncaster for certain services. It was also noted that there are problems with the name South Yorkshire Conurbation.

The London Development Agency (LDA) has not done a good job with its masterplan for Vauxhall and Battersea. The agency appears not to be interested in suggestions from architects and others. The LDA's financing practices are questioned.
