A community with a vision
Article Abstract:
Sta Rosa, CA-based newspaper 'The Press Democrat' has considerably contributed to the efforts of a group of Santa Rosa, CA, business and political leaders to achieve a long-term objective of revitalizing its downtown area. The newspaper agreed to publish a report containing extensive recommendations for the modernization of downtown Sta Rosa, and distribute this to more than 68,000 subscribers. This was no simple feat, as plans that had originally called for a 24-page tabloid, kept changing until the report became a 56-page paper. The publishing process for the report was a photofinish event, with newspaper staff pulling everything together in less than eight hours for a job that would typically have had a four- to five-day deadline.
