Apomixis technology development -- virgin births in farmers' fields?
Article Abstract:
Apomixis is the process of asexual reproduction through seed, in the absence of meiosis and fertilization, generating clonal progeny of maternal origin. Apomixis is rare among crop plants but this could lead to major benefits to agriculture and investors should look into the deployment of apomixis technology in agriculture.

A mightier mouse with human adaptive immunity

Xenotransplantation of human cells into immunocompromised mice is considered as an important toll for studying the function of human immune and hematopoietic systems. The protocol described by Manz and colleagues is an important step toward the goal of establishing mice with a fully adaptive human immune system.
