Raytheon reports mostly improved financial results
Article Abstract:
Raytheon Co. had reported an increase in its fourth quarter income, but later it reported of declining revenue for its full 2004 fiscal year. Profit for the fourth quarter 2004 was $5.7 billion, however the full year income from continuing operations in 2004 were negatively affected by an after-tax charge of $222 million for the second-quarter settlement of a class action lawsuit.

Army tests new biodefense system
Article Abstract:
The U.S. Army is testing out a new biodefense system called the Joint Biological standoff Detection System (JBSDS), which can provide early warning of an impending biothreat. The new system is made up of a laser transceiver, a laser module that is connected by fiber optics and cables and a laptop computer that runs the whole thing.
