With strong quarter, Raytheon raises earnings outlook

The Raytheon Co. reported first quarter 2006 net income of $287 million or 64 percent per diluted share, which is a 49 percent high earnings per share. The company noted that net income for the first quarter of 2005 included a $30 million after-tax loss in discontinued operations primarily attributable to an after-tax charge for the settlement of a class action shareholder lawsuit.
