Boeing sees need for at least 40 more C-17s: Seeks word on tankers

The Boeing Company sees a Pentagon need for at least 40 more C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft beyond its original contract for 180. Boeing will continue to operate its 767 commercial airliner production line till the end of 2006, as it is awaiting the US Air Force decision to solicit bids for a new aerial refueling tanker aircraft.

V-22 Osprey cleared for take-off to full-rate production
Article Abstract:
The Pentagon review panel has cleared the V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft for full-rate production. The news is long-awaited for Bell Helicopter Textron and the Boeing Co., a sign that the $50 billion Osprey program is back on track, and they would be producing the odd looking aircraft for the Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy.
