Industry covers 'The Gamut' for FCS class II, III UAVs
Article Abstract:
The industry team in charge of Army Future Combat Systems (FCS) is considering a variety of possible concepts for the FCS Class II and Class III unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) thus covering the gamut of different types of airframes. To be a system of systems, FCS is to be made up of manned and unmanned vehicles and other components linked through an advanced network.

A defense analyst suggests that the lethality of the weapons used by the adversaries should be the top priority while considering the survivability of the US soldier. These should lead to the creation of proper platforms that meet military requirements and are armored sufficiently to take a hit and fight back.
