Navy shipbuilding plans would require $15 billion-$18 billion: Report
Article Abstract:
Navy shipbuilding plans to create a fleet of 260 to 325 ships and submarines by 2035 would require $15 billion to $18.3 billion annually, which is more than the $8.721 billion proposed for shipbuilding and conversion in the fiscal year ending 30 September 2006. The fiscal 2006 Navy budget plan will be funding for only four ships and in later years it will be funding for seven to twelve ships and submarines a year.

Navy favors extra DD(X), not old DDG
