Ratings Services Guide Sellers And Buyers
Article Abstract:
Cassandra and Apollo are computer software systems for syndicated television program buyers and sellers. Cassandra is available through the Nielsen Station Index (NSI) and identifies and tracks programming. The advantage of Cassandra is its user friendliness. Apollo was developed by Spot Quotations and Data president Marvin Richfield. The Apollo program reports take Nielsen and Arbitron data and extrapolate and organize the information. Apollo is considered a value-added service. Computer printouts of a graph and a tabular listing from the two computer software systems are provided.

Computing Services When You Rent
Article Abstract:
Qualified Electric Supply Co. is a California-based wholesaler/distributor of electrical parts. Its old method of handling accounts receivable and payable, and its invoicing was a batch data processing system. The company's president realized the old system was inadequate but did not want to purchase a new one. The solution was found in renting an on-line computing system for a monthly fee. The rental includes computer hardware on the company's premises, software and service. Qualified controls all data inputting and processing.
