Integrating Voice & Data for the Small Company
Article Abstract:
TELENOVA I, manufactured by TELENOVA Inc. (Los Gatos, California) is an integrated system and a true alternative for a small business. Rather than buying a PBX or KTS system and a separate data communications network (that, together, cannot expand with a company's growth), this voice and data system can expand anywhere from ten to one-hundred telephones. Some of its features are: it uses standard two-pair telephone wires, it has specialized interface units, and it connects with standard RS-232C ports to a wide variety of voice and data equipment from different vendors. Maintenance is done through autodiagnostics (self-diagnosis).

Ground Rules for Making a Telephone System Purchasing Decision
Article Abstract:
Picking the right telephone system is an important business decision. The system should be easy to use, cost-effective and dependable. Knowing what questions to ask is important when it comes time to purchase new equipment. One consideration is whether to buy or rent the equipment. Does one go directly to the manufacturer or a vendor? Is the system flexible? Are important equipment features included. Finally, service is important. Does the service contract cover all the expenses? Because the phone system is so important to a business, these items should be considered carefully before buying.
