Sanyo's devices, displays extract optimum quality from digital cameras

Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd.'s VPC-X300EX digital still camera works with a 1/3-inch, 810,000-pixel CCD and can operate in the XGA mode or with the VGA mode. With a polysilicon thin-film transistor (TFT), users can view pictures as soon as they are recorded and the TFT format ensures high resolution. The camera also incorporates a Voice Memo feature that allows recording of up to four seconds of sound for every shots. VPC-X300EX also has a built-in flash for automatic, forced and off modes and it comes with a personal computer interface cable and software for the transfer of the images to a computer.

Data and industrial equipment, which represent a strong area of growth, rose 85.6 percent or 20.301 billion yen. Semiconductors and VCRs have been the largest contributors to the company's growth. Marketing strategy is directed towards the United States and Western Europe.
