The data processing department of Flower Hospital-Crestview Center in Ohio has a Burroughs DC 140 processor, a Four Phase system with printer, two VDTs, a Uarco burster and a seven-ton air conditioner. Tests showed a considerable noise level. After installing Tibbet workstations and panels containing Owens-Corning Fiberglas, noise levels dropped to fifty-nine decibels at 1000 Hertz (speech frequency) and fifty decibels at 4000 Hertz. Normal voice is measured at 65 decibels.

Systems in Action: Computer and the Arts
Article Abstract:
Under the auspices of the Arts Automation Consortium of the Greater Hartford Arts Council, a number of arts organizations and performance facilities are joining forces to automate their business functions. Each member organization operates a Wang OIS computer that is connected to other terminals and communicates with the Wang VS80 central computer at the Council's office. The system is used for a variety of tasks including fund raising, accounting, and word processing.
