Looking Glass Inc, a marketing services company based in Denver, CO, said that its Cohorts database service can divide a firm's database into 27 segments for e-mail and direct mail campaigns. According to the company, the service employs marketing categories grouped by demographic and lifestyle features. The divisions are created from survey data obtained from proprietary research of 85% of households in the US. The service also uses syndicated market research data.
