DMers: Amazon smart to change privacy policy
Article Abstract:
Amazon.com Inc's decision to change its privacy policy has gained the support of direct mailers though many consumer advocates opposed it. The new privacy policy allows Amazon to share data with its business partners and sell its customer database as an asset. Direct mailers said that the move is strategically sound since one of Amazon's biggest assets is its customer database. Consumer advocates said that the new policy compromises consumer privacy.
