Cities under stress
Article Abstract:
The effect of terrorist attacks is studied with emphasis on the internal structure of cities, by developing a model urban framework of capital structures. The short-term effect is amplification of he agglomeration forces and reduced urban activity temporarily. In the long run, the effects due to terrorism are negligible in the case of large metro cities.

An empirical analysis of the economic impact of federal terrorism reinsurance
Article Abstract:
The paper examines the effects of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) on the most likely industries to be affected by terrorism. Their stock price movements were studied minutely to find relationships with events leading to passage of the TRIA. A new term e SamaritanEs dilemmaE describes the detrimental effects of TRIA on the insurance sector.

Article Abstract:
The Terrorism Reinsurance Act of 2002 provides for Federal intervention for terrorism risk insurance, enabling the sharing of loss due to terror attack. The paper by Jeffrey R Brown concluded that the Act affected the stock prices of various industries negatively.
