Comment on P. Dasgupta, "The Economics of Poverty in Poor Countries."
Article Abstract:
Small countries adopt norms and measures to monitor one another and also prevent foreigners from tapping their common resources, When a country begins to progress, a contributing factor is a breakdown and alteration in various long-standing institutions, along with increased discrimination against agriculture and the collapse of social norms that enabled the management of local commons. Given an economy-wide growth, consumption that was usually generated by common resources declines.

The economics of child labor
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the factors influencing the occurrence and prevalence of child labor practices reveals that a diagram could very well help formulate effective population policies. The diagram should incorporate fertility and gender as well as the average economic situation of families. There are different equilibria arising from such issues as there are different factors involved in different labor situations.
