Investing in China: guidelines for success
Article Abstract:
An assessment of the success of China's open-door policy and the role that UK firms took in it is provided. While China has implemented such incentives as preferential treatment, decentralized management and improved laws and regulations, the influx of foreign investments has been below expectations. This is traced mainly to the dynamic political and economic environments, risk of expropriation, unclear government policy, infrastructure constraints and market protectionism.
