Selling to Turkey's electric power sector
Article Abstract:
Turkey's increasing need for energy is causing a speed-up in the building of new hydroelectric and thermal power stations. Expenditures for such stations should amount to about $700 million in 1992, while demand for energy should go up by 8.8%. The Turkish Electricity Authority and the State Hydraulic Works are the two state-owned companies responsible for most projects. Private companies are also allowed to generate electricity for commercial sale. Turkey's many projects mean that the country will have a strong demand for power generating equipment such as turbines and boilers.

Joint venturing in the kingdom: the legal requirements
Article Abstract:
The limited liability company remains the most popular form of joint venture in Saudi Arabia and a chief engine of its growth. Important considerations in entering such an agreement include the nature of Saudi law, which is less predictable than that of many other countries and which governs all joint venture arrangements, and the rules regarding such companies in Saudi Arabia. These rules, the pros and cons of such a structure, documentation, and taxation are discussed. Understanding local requirements is crucial.
