Article Abstract:
In the light of the publication of his book "Disidencia y Subversion: La Lucha del Regimen Franquista por su Supervivencia, 1960-1975" (Dissidence and Subversion: The Franco Regime's Struggle for Survival 1960-1975), Pere Ysas, an expert on the Franco dictatorship in Spain who is based at the Universitat Autonome de Barcelona, analyses the impact that dissident movements in Spain had on the dictatorship and its institutions. Ysas provides a more complicated view of the period than is usually put forward by historians in Spain.
