College libraries brought to book
Article Abstract:
A survey of British university students has revealed a high level of dissatisfaction with university library facilities. Students at Goldsmiths College described their library facilities as appalling while a Plymouth University student jokingly questioned whether there were any facilities at his institution. Students complained that they had to spend large amounts of money buying books because libraries did not have enough copies of the books they needed. They also pointed to the poor condition of some books. Computer facilities were also considered unsatisfactory, particularly at Cambridge University.

Mystic Percy
Article Abstract:
South African-born astronomer Percy Seymour, principal lecturer in astronomy at the University of Plymouth, England, maintains that the censorship operated by the scientific community in 1996 is as lethal to science as the Inquisition was to the theories of Galileo. Seymour claims that he finds it very difficult to have his work published because his theory regarding possible magnetic links between the planets, the sun, and ultimately man runs counter to current scientific thought. He argues that no-one gets anywhere unless they propose a theory and that he has the right to be wrong.
