Doom: it's not Black Death but men in black leather
Article Abstract:
Issues relating to the rise of dystopian views of the future in modern culture are examined. It is argued that part of the reason behind our increasingly dystopian outlook is the fact that we are becoming a society increasingly in thrall to technology, and there is always the fear that this technology could go wrong. It is also suggested that the declining credence given in modern culture to religion is adding to the modern dystopian mindset.
