Higher degrees of disturbance
Article Abstract:
Universities must provide adequate counselling and health facilities for their students. Some observers point out students have to be able to cope psychologically with a number of new and stressful experiences whilst at university. The large number of students attending universities often means they have much less contact and support from their personal tutors. Modular courses may make students feel under stress due to having to constantly meet deadlines. The cost of courses, with many students leaving with debts on average 5,000 pounds sterling, can cause extra strain.

... believe today's students have been turned into wimps
Article Abstract:
Issues relating to the demands that today' students face are examined from the point of view that students today expect far less of themselves than previous generations. It is argued that it is not too much to ask of a student to work a few evenings every week or at weekends in order to earn money to boost their finances, and that students who complain about the stress of examinations are missing the point, that exams are supposed to be stressful and that this is part of the testing procedure.
