Orchestrating the Media Center
Article Abstract:
A school media specialist describes his philosophy of maintaining an efficient, well-run media center. Suggestions are given to set up guidelines that clearly articulate the center's values; to communicate with staff and students as to their needs; to produce videotapes to promote information; to use the computer to take over some of the specialist's work, and to attract the hackers; and to regularly attend to the repetitive tasks, such as card catalog organization, so as to stay on top of the chaos.
