Pen succumbs to power of pixel
Article Abstract:
An analysis of what Walt Disney would have thought of the decision by the Walt Disney company to shut down Disney/Toon Studios Australia and effectively end the company's 2-D traditional animation capability. It is contended that, while Walt would have recognised the value of 3-D animation, it is unlikely he would have completely abandoned 2-D animation, and that the real reason behind the failure of Disney movies has more to do with poor story choices and managerial meddling in the creative process than the actual format of the movies that were produced.
