QAA lambasts Royal Agricultural College
Article Abstract:
The Royal Agricultural College, which three years ago entered the public higher education system and began accepting government funding after 150 years as an independent institutions serving the rural economy, has received its first audit from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), higher education watchdog. In its report the QAA states that there can only be "limited confidence" in the College's academic standards and raises significant questions about the College's process for ensuring standards.

Sector's safety record slated
Article Abstract:
Universities and collees have been accused of neglecting safety of staff and students following a series of health and safety law breaches. Health and Safety Executive archives show that 14 successful prosecutions have been brought against colleges and universities since 2000 and there are many other cases where no legal action is taken.

Maritime Greenwich College has left students feeling disillusioned after discovering that their degree will not have the accreditation they expected. MBAs are not awarded by the University of London as students believe but Dublin Metropolitan University which does not have recognised international accreditation.
