Less of a Robin, more of a hood
Article Abstract:
Dick Turpin, a highwayman in the UK who is often viewed as a gentleman robber, was actually little more than a violent thug, new research conducted by James Sharpe, professor of history at York University, for his book "Dick Turpin: The Myth of the English Highwayman" has revealed. The research revealed that Turpin, who was hanged in York about 250 years ago for his crimes, was a violent criminal who took part in burglaries, robberies and murder and who did not actually commit any of the more romantic crimes attributed to him.

Spin doctor schools students in dark arts
Article Abstract:
James Humphreys, a former No 10 spokesman and director of the new masters in political communication at Kingston University, demonstrates how professional experience can be invaluable in the launch of a masters course. Humphreys analyses the way the government uses spin and argues that the last thing he wants is for his course to produce a generation of spin doctors who will stop at nothing in their attempts to control public debate.
