Shards of genius
Article Abstract:
Christopher is an interesting case study who shed light on language an intelligence. He can communicate in 15 to 20 languages, using both written and oral skills, but cannot easily perform simple tasks such as shaving. He filters his languages other than English through his knowledge of the English language which makes it difficult for him to understand certain non-English constructions. This illustrates notions of a universal grammar, developed by Noam Chomsky.

The false prophet's promise of apples
Article Abstract:
Ian Robinson, author of The New Grammarian's Funeral, disagrees with Chomsky's Language Acquisition Device, which the latter claims children are born with. No biological evidence exists for the Language Acquisition Device and Chomsky believes it must exist because a child's acquisition of language can not be explai ned without it.
