Shared leadership for teacher and student learning
Article Abstract:
Research findings from studies examining the way principals and teachers contribute to shared instructional leadership, and the relationship of shared instructional leadership to teacher and student learning is synthesized. Principals and teachers contribute to the leadership equation in each school in different ways, according to school context and personnel, but an important finding is that the ways in which teachers and principals lead were in tension.

Key aspects of professional community is explored, potential benefits are discussed and difficulties that principals and teacher might face as they try to shift from familiar norms and relationships to the establishment of professional communities in schools is examined. The shift might require principals and teachers to confront longstanding traditions and might involve profound changes in attitudes and practices.

Teachers as executives
Article Abstract:
A special educator in a school needs to play different roles, as he is responsible for coordinating a complex system of adults and students and students with disabilities. This contemporary role is quite similar to that of an executive in companies and requires comparable leadership, collaboration and communication skills and those who have these skills may see more successful inclusion of their students.
