Article Abstract:
An overview of the difficulties faced by academics, with particular attention paid to female academics, who want to try and maintain their career and have children. While many universities in the UK have policies that look family-friendly on paper, most fall short of the real needs of parents, leaving new parents feeling sidelined in their career.
