Time to eat our words?
Article Abstract:
The British are encouraged to believe that food ingredients typically found in the Mediterranean diet are healthy by marketing concerns in Europe. There are many varying definitions of the Mediterranean diet although a general perception exists that foodstuffs such as olives, fish, salads and pasta reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Medical research suggests that there are many complex, inter-related factors affecting health that can not be clearly associated with diet.

War of the words
Article Abstract:
The National Curriculum English taught will be changed to include the study of Shakespeare and the use of Standard English. This will mean less attention being paid to the meaning of what children write or say, and more to their grammar, spelling and punctuation. Critics say this will adversely affect children from homes where such English is not used and has a class-based bias. The texts to be studied will be mandatory throughout the state education system.
