What are the facts behind the super fictions?
Article Abstract:
Superfictions, fictional situations in which artists either take the visual arts into another realm of human activity or play games with the press, are a recent artistic fashion. The self-proclaimed 'Leeds 13', 13 art students from Leeds University, fooled British tabloid newspapers into believing that they were using university money to go on holiday to Spain. They then mounted a final degree show consisting entirely of works by other artists. Artist, curator and critic John Tozer explains that his interest in creating superfictions lies in seeing what the after-effects might be.
