Alpine Electronics Inc's DVD-5205J DVD-Video player, which features the company's Star Circuit audio circuitry, is intended for automobiles. The Star Circuit audio circuitry employs sophisticated patterning technologies to connect different circuits using the shortest routes. Also, each circuit has an independent ground line. The elimination of unwanted signal-phase distortion caused by different frequencies results in excellent image and sound replay. The player costs $1,083.

Toshiba re-enters hi-fi audio market with DVD-audio player

Toshiba Corp is introducing its first DVD-Audio and Video player, marking the company's re-entry into the Hi-Fi audio market. Aiming to attain a 15%-20% market share in the DVD player market worldwide, the company will also expand its product line to include portable audio sets that use Secure Digital memory cards. On Jun 19, 2000 Toshiba said it released the SD-92000 DVD Audio and Video player, which is available for 220,000 yen.
