Multimedia investments bolster outlook for telecom equipment
Article Abstract:
The Communications Industry Assn of Japan (CIAJ) believes the telecommunications equipment industry will start its recovery in 1999 after two years of decline. The CIAJ based its prediction on the migration towards digital phones and computer telephony and the emergence of multimedia systems. The association further expects the industry to register an annual growth rate of 4% from 1998 to 2003, at which time the market would have a value of 4.692 trillion yen.
