Connecting quality improvement practices to reaccreditation
Article Abstract:
Educational institutions in the US are under increasing pressure to obtain accreditation. Although the process is considered voluntary, organisations are finding themselves at risk of losing funding, students and stakeholders without accreditation. A continuous quality improvement assessment program based on the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award criteria is currently gaining popularity.

Since Wayne Regional Orthopaedics PLLC (WRO) obtained ISO 9002 registration the small orthopaedic practice has identified less errors in data entry, improved patient satisfaction and efficiency, cost savings and improved revenues. Implementation of the ISO 9002 management system model cost the business $40,000 which was recouped during the first nine months of implementation.
