Bell Communications Research Inc (Bellcore) and its regional Bell system client companies that supply services to long-distance carriers have developed a quality control system known as the Customer Supplier Quality Process (CSQP). This system views product quality evaluation as resting with the supplier. CSQP measures supplier performance in terms of the suppliers quality policy and its implementation, training and certification of employees' in relevant skills, software development, testing and quality assurance.

The Quality Management & Technology Center (QM&TC) operated by Du Pont has been at the forefront of the pharmaceutical company's quality improvement operations for over three decades. The center is located in Newark, DE, and is actively involved in the provision of training, consulting and evaluation services in the majorquality management disciplines. Aside from addressing Du Pont's quality improvement needs, the QM&TC also assists other companies in the adoption and application of quality control technologies.

Morrisette Paper supplies AMP Inc with numerous paper products and the paper company participates in AMP's 'supplier partnering' program. AMP produces electronic and electrical interconnections. The partnering program began as an attempt to improve relations with suppliers, but it has improved the quality of suppliers' performance. The program has provided the same quality improvement for a variety of suppliers.
