Psyching out computer chess players
Article Abstract:
Computer chess programs are getting better but yet grandmasters of the game like Garry Kasparov, the top-rated player in the world drew a match against a leading chess program from Germany called 'Fritz' that runs on an Intel Xeon server. The human weak point lies in calculation while the computer's is in long-term strategy and hence the trick is to prepare openings that push the other side into the kind of game that accentuates its weaknesses.
