Reclaiming the social and environmental roots of nutrition education
Article Abstract:
Kate Clancy proposes that nutrition educators be concerned with the protection of the environment and to help in the establishment of sustainable community. She claims that the five criteria of sustainable development: long-term impacts and consequences, interdependence, participation and transparency, equity, and proactive prevention, are all being applied by nutrition educators in their everyday work. She suggests that there are three things to be done by nutrition educators before the 100th anniversary of the Lake Placid Conference.
