Do doctors respond to financial incentives? UK family doctors and the GP fundholder scheme

The UK's GPs have responded to the financial incentives offered by the fundholding scheme introduced in 1991. However, problems may have arisen with regard to the hospital care of patients not in fundholder GP practices.
