Brain waves
Article Abstract:
Health workers are only gradually beginning to recognise that alternative therapies could dramatically improve the prospects for brain-damaged children, and many parents are still missing out on these opportunities because health workers are reluctant to accept that their methods could be less successful than others. If parents are properly trained to encourage their child's healthy brain cells to take over the functions of damaged parts of the brain, the child's learning ability can be greatly improved, and considerable cost savings can also be made on not having to place the child in a special institute.

Charter of charters
Article Abstract:
A charter acknowledging a client's right to information would strenthen all other service charters. Professionals may prevent informed decision-making by withholding facts. For example a midwifery charter would oblige professionals to offer a range of options. The charter would ensure redress if less than adequate information was forthcoming.
