Can research survive managed care?
Article Abstract:
The proposed funding for the National Institutes of Health for clinical research for 1998 is $13.5 billion, which represents an increase of $764 million over 1997. The managed care system is decreasing physician time and healthcare system resources for clinical research. The additional funding for the National Institutes of Health may not help to shorten the time between research and implementation of the research.
